Study Group: Jain Study Group Starts Group B Classes
Posted by: Pravin Mehta on Monday, February 26, 2007 - 11:34 AM
Jain Study Group In response to the suggestion of several Jain Study Group members, we have begun additional meetings of JSG on the other alternate Sundays. At this time we will call this as Group B meetings.

Everyone is welcome to these meetings. These meetings are for those who are 18 years and above. These meetings will be conducted in English.

These meetings will offer an opportunity to learn and review Jain Principles and Practice specifically for those who missed this study earlier, which was covered in the regular group meetings about 4 years ago. If you have been reluctant to come in the regular meetings due to "lack of pre-requisite", this gives an opportunity to learn the basic principles of Jainism.

These group meetings will expect each participant to do the assigned reading and home-work, so that we can adequately learn the basic principles of Jainism in a relatively shorter time.

The meeting will be every alternate Sunday, from 10 AM to Noon at Jain Center in the room upstairs where we hold our regular meetings (next to the administrative office).

We will be using the two new books --"Jain Philosophy and Practice -1 and - 2" -- (JES 302 and JES 401) published by JAINA Education Committee.

If you have any questions, please contact one of the following members:

Study Group: Jain Study Group Clothes Collection - 1/23 and 2/6
Posted by: Sateen Sheth on Friday, January 21, 2005 - 12:27 PM
Jain Study Group We understand that it maybe difficult for many of you to drop off clothes for Share and Care to the Swaminarayan Mandir in Norwalk. Therefore, the Jain Study Group will be collecting clothes at the Jain Center during the next two Pathshala classes and take responsibility for dropping them off to the appropriate location. Anyone who wants to donate please bring your used clothes to the temple this Sunday 1/23/05 or on Sunday 2/6/05.

We will be collecting clothes from 9:30am to 1pm. Look for a van with a sign that says "Share and Care Clothes Collection". This van will be parked near the post office building. DO NOT leave your clothes at the derasar - make sure you put them in our van.

Please do not bring any leather goods, shoes, purses, belts, toys or pots and pans. Non-leather clothes only! This is a great opportunity to help those in need in India - Share and Care's last shipment reached those affected in India by the tsunami.

If you have any questions, please contact
Sateen at sateen_sheth@yahoo.com or 714-381-7592
