The Jain Center of Southern California (JCSC)
located
in Buena Park, California is a non-profit religious organization
to pursue a goal of practicing, promoting and preserving the Jain
religion. It is governed by a constitution and managed by
Board
of Directors and an Executive Committee
consisting of President, Vice President,
Secretary, Treasurer, Public Relations, and ten Directors, who
are elected by the Jain Center members for a term of two years.
Various Events and On-going Activities
are planned and organized by a number of sub-groups including
Mahavir Mandal,
Jain Center Youth Council (JCYC),
Jain Association of Young Adults (JAYA), and
Jain Seniors Association.
During the year many Dignitaries
from India and other parts of the world visit our center and hold
lectures and discourses in Jainism.
The Jain Center of Southern California has a very rich
History
going back to 1979 when it was established. It has continued to
be an active center for members of all ages. We have now
completed
Phase 2 of a much needed expansion of the center.
The new facility
covers a religious complex, a cultural complex and an educational
complex. All these has been done at a
total cost of about $20 million
made possible by generous donations of our members.

Paryushan is starting from September 4th 2010.On September 6,2010 we will be celebrating Mahavir Jayanti. As always The Cultural Team would like to invite & encourage Community members(adults & young) to participate in the Mahavir jayanti cultural program to showcase their talent & make spectacular program.
The following guidelines have been set up by the committee:
1) Group item; please no solo items.(minimum # of participants 3)
2) 5-7 minutes long.
3) It should not have been previously performed at the Jain center of Southern California.
4) Only religious or cultural items will be considered
5) No recitation of stuti/stavan, etc.
6) The deadline to register is August 8 2010
All items that are being planned MUST be e-mailed to culturalcommittee@jaincenter.net by August 8 2010 and will need to be approved by the committee

As Paryushan Mahaparv 2010 is coming nearer, we would like to inform you about the Ekasna sponsorships available for the Daily Ekasanas at the Jain Center, as we do every year.
For Sat., Sun., Mon. (Sep. 4, 5, 6, 2010) and Sat (Sep 11, 2010):
Ekasana Sponsorship for $1,500 for each day - multiple families can group together and give under one name.
For Tue - Fri (Sep 7 - 10, 2010)
Ekasana Sponsorship available for $750 for each day - multiple families can group together and give under one name.

Kevin Gandhi (son of Kinna and late Prakash Gandhi ) is very sick and in the ICU at UC San Diego Medical Center -Thornton Hospital. Kevin is 19 years old and just finished his 2nd year at UC San Diego.
To send the best wishes for his speedy recovery a chain of Ayambil has already begun. Everyday at least one person from our holy sangh will do ayambil. We want to send positive vibrations to Kevin's heart, brain, and soul by doing so. Many sadharmik brothers and sisters have already given their names.
