The Jain Center of Southern California (JCSC)
located
in Buena Park, California is a non-profit religious organization
to pursue a goal of practicing, promoting and preserving the Jain
religion. It is governed by a constitution and managed by
Board
of Directors and an Executive Committee
consisting of President, Vice President,
Secretary, Treasurer, Public Relations, and ten Directors, who
are elected by the Jain Center members for a term of two years.
Various Events and On-going Activities
are planned and organized by a number of sub-groups including
Mahavir Mandal,
Jain Center Youth Council (JCYC),
Jain Association of Young Adults (JAYA), and
Jain Seniors Association.
During the year many Dignitaries
from India and other parts of the world visit our center and hold
lectures and discourses in Jainism.
The Jain Center of Southern California has a very rich
History
going back to 1979 when it was established. It has continued to
be an active center for members of all ages. We have now
completed
Phase 2 of a much needed expansion of the center.
The new facility
covers a religious complex, a cultural complex and an educational
complex. All these has been done at a
total cost of about $20 million
made possible by generous donations of our members.

JCYC Roller Skating Event
JCYC committee is organizing a roller-skating event as follows:
Where: Skate Depot - Cerritos (11113 183rd Street, Cerritos 562-924-0911)
When: Saturday, Feb 4, 2012 from 12Noon to 3:30 PM
Cost: $8 per person. Lunch and snacks will be provided.
Please come with the entire family to this exciting event. Even if you do not know how to skate, this will still be a big fun!!

Mahavir Janma Kalyanak will be celebrated at the Jain Center on Sunday April 8, 2012.
Please note the change --- earlier the date was set to be Saturday, April 7th 2012!!
As you know, Mahavir Janma Kalyanak is one of our biggest festivals and Children Cultural program is a major part of this day. We need to make sure that we are ready for a very good, entertaining and professional program for that day. If you wish to perform during the cultural program, please decide on your performance and group and let us know.
Following are the basic guidelines for the Program.
1) No movie songs or movie related music. Also, please do not repeat songs / routines from performances of that day.
2) Minimum # of 5 participants . No Solo items.
3) A participant can only participate in 1 performance.
4)The number of plays will be limited to 3 and that will be decided after the audition.
5) If you are planning a skit/drama, please discuss it with Komal and Kokila at the post office bldg with your draft and stage/AV set-ups, etc.
6) Time limit for Dance/song is 5 minutes.
7) Time limit for Skit/Drama is 10 minutes.
8) Each and every item will go through a selection process by the Selection committee.
9) Deadline to submit/register for participation is Sunday, February 5, 2012.
10) Original song disk will have to be submitted and tested to play on the Jain Center AV System.
11) Please decide a lead for each item and submit your entry with the details of Lead Name, phone#, email address and a list of each participant.
Please Register by sending an email to the contacts below by the February 5th deadline. we will email a confirmation receipt back.

We have developed a set of guidelines for the community to forward the E mails for broadcasting to the JCSC community. The objective of the guidelines is to implement the process in order that we can communicate efficiently and quickly to you
1.About the events that have taken place within JCSC community
2.Events scheduled at the JCSC
3.Events scheduled within Jain community across US
4.Jaina activities and events planned by Jaina
The guidelines are outlined as follows:
1.Non urgent and General Information related E mails will be forwarded to the JCSC community once a week on every Thursday night.
1.The obituary and memorial (Prarthna) service announcement/s will be sent to the community as soon as received by the PR Office.
2.JCSC community members, JCSC BODs and ECMs are requested to send the E mails for broadcast at least ONE day, Wednesday , prior to Thursday since all of the E mails are reviewed by us prior to the publication.
3.The E mails received after the cut off day of Wednesday 5:00 PM will not be forwarded to the community until next weekly communication to the community.
4.E mails should be concise and clearly to the point in order to assist the PR office in minimizing the time required to broadcast the E mails to the community.
1.The scheduled date, time, place and subject must be properly and clearly highlighted for the ease of comprehension for the community members.
2.Please indicate clearly if the communication is to be forwarded frequently and please indicate the frequency for the broadcast.
5.JCSC President and the PR Office reserves the right to edit the communications to be forwarded as well as the decision as to whether the communication is worthy of broadcast to the community.
6.Communication/s for the commercial purpose for selling of products and services WILL NOT BE FORWARDED to the community.
7.We are JCSC volunteers and we are here to serve you the community. Please kindly help and cooperate with us to serve you more efficiently and quicker by forwarding your E mail requests for broadcasting to the JCSC community in a time manner as per the suggested schedule mentioned earlier.
We humbly request all of the community members to adhere to the guidelines outlined above to enable us to keep you informed and serve you more efficiently.
